Top 10 “America Last” Presidents of All Time.
We had discussed several Presidents that put forth an America First vision of Nationalism, and as a comparison I wanted to put forth a list of Presidents that in their love of internationalism or sheer feckless naivete or inability had done their best to put America Last:
10. Jimmy Carter
Handing over the Panama Canal was an unforgivable cession. No one worked harder to undermine the American sense of optimism and ingenuity. No one projected humility and defeat as readily as Carter. He was a small man that did negligible things whose chief trait was to remind Americans that they are in decline as a society, a proclamation that did not have to be true. Reagan’s unbridled optimism and tax reform stands in sharp relief to this loser of a President.
9. Barack Obama
Constantly apologizing for the US, Obama’s ineffectiveness prevented him from completely destroying the nation. The ultimate citizen of the world with loyalty to, well, anyone but the United States, was a constant embarrassment.
He was elected in part as a dove willing to end the Gulf War, but with the appointment of Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State it virtually took foreign policy out of his hands completely. There was a drawdown in troops from Iraq but 17 years post-9–11 we still have soldiers in harms way, and spent a lot of money in the process. Further, the Arab Spring of 2011, which destabilized nearly the entire middle east on behalf of the Saudi’s was as disruptive a foreign intervention in many ways as the Iraq war, and it resulted in the flooding of refugees into the EU and the US. Obama also mainly looked the other way while illegal immigrants flooded into the country and passed a poison pill in the Dream Act which is a delayed amnesty of all children from other countries with the ultimate goal of subverting American government and essentially turning it into Venezuela one state at a time, beginning with California.
8. John Quincy Adams
JQ Adams like Opposed manifest destiny and critic of the annexation of Texas. His election in thwarted Andrew Jackson and required some electoral shenanigans. Jackson had won the plurality of votes in the initial round and a contingent election held by the House of Representatives threw the election to Adams. In 1828 Jackson won the rematch and controlled the electoral narrative for decades.
7. Richard Nixon
Nixon’s nationalism was decidedly mixed. On the positive side he pulled the US out of a costly quagmire in Vietnam. But removing the dollar from the gold standard has reduced the sovereignty of our nation and I predict will ultimately lead to the downfall of the US. Nixon’s key accomplishment was opening up formal relations with China and Russia, negotiating a pullback of imperial American hegemony. Nixon is included here as a martyr to the cause of American nationalism and an autonomous presidency.
Needing the Breton Woods agreement was the equivalent of the third harpoon hitting Jaws, it didn’t quite kill American but left our currency and wages stagnating ever since, our sovereignty bleeding out over time.
6. Franklin Pierce
Pierce was an American expansionist at heart and his goal was to organize the Kansas territory for the Union. While his intentions were good he was so feckless in his attempt to navigate a compromise between abolitionists and pro-slavery agrarians that many lay blame on Pierce for the Civil War. In addition, unlike Trump (a teetotaler) Pierce was an alcoholic.
5. Harry Truman
The quote is wrong but does have the ring of truthiness to it.
Harry Truman formalized all the extra national institutions Americans had been suspicious of of throughout history. First, he created the Central Intelligence Agency in 1947, which he came to regret soon after. His frank nature endeared him to supporters but did alienate him from congress, the amendment to limit the president to two terms was a result of his irascible nature.
Truman also oversaw the formation of the UN, giving European and other nations leverage to negotiate against American interests and undermine US sovereignty every chance they get.
Truman also developed NATO which was the exact type of entanglement with foreign alliances (particularly Britain!) President Washington warned us about. Until very recently Turkey was considered as a possible NATO candidate, though now it’s nationalism and imperialistic nature have shone through.
3rd tie George H W Bush and George W Bush
The consummate insiders, wealthy multi-generational politicians (HWs dad was a Senator)
Let’s conduct a quick thought experiment. Pearl Harbor just occurred but the Japanese convince us that those were rogue kamikaze pilots influenced by China. Would FDR then invade Manchuria? Taking the face value of the 9/11 attacks, Saudi renegades ( but members of the royal family lol) attacked the United States. And so, we have to attack the country bordering Saudi Arabia.
Wait what?
All the while both Bushes were more immigration friendly than Bill Clinton, initiating programs to “temporarily” allow immigrants from South America due to this storm or that and W tried desperately to pass an amnesty for illegals in 2006.
2. Lyndon Baines Johnson
Sources say LBJ strongly recommended Jack ride in the Convertible
Johnson embodied the invade the world and invite the world model. He signed the Hart-Cellar act in 1965 which systematically undermined American sovereignty, all while waging a bloody and pointless war in Vietnam.
Master of the gibs, LBJ transferred tremendous amounts of wealth to minorities by creating a welfare state that incentivized bastardization. The Great Society programs and the war on poverty has created a plantation of democratic voters that few have escaped.
Deeply unpopular he chose not to run for re-election in 1968 and his hand-picked successor lost in a landslide to Nixon.
1. Woodrow Wilson
Wilson had been elected due to the infighting of the GOP Presidents Taft and Roosevelt, but he was poised to make massive changes that will result in the bankruptcy and dissolution of this nation.
People need to know what Wilson did to turn this fine Nation into a imperial superpower to eventually exploited by globalist banking conglomerates. These issues are all interrelated and will be listed thus:
1. Creation of the Federal Reserve
· A supranational bank overseeing monetary policy given a cursory oversight by congress has outsized influence over policy and supersedes the citizens sovereignty in the financial world.
2. Creation of the income tax
· Prior to the 16th amendment the federal government was financed largely by tariffs. This had the effect of protecting American industry and maintained the size of federal expenditures and thus the government. The result of this is that every citizen becomes reduced to a subject, a unit of income extraction by the government. Compounded by this is the debt held by the foreign reserve banks require either constant growth by the American economy, which in turn require an ever growing workforce (all men, then all women, then immigration, all increasing their work hours) to pay off this debt or risk default. Another possible way to grow the economy is…
3. The endless war economy
· At behest of New England bankers and the British, President Wilson led the US kicking and screaming into World War 1.
· World War 1 was fantastic short term victory and high water mark for American hegemony, but a humiliating treaty of Versailles ultimately led to a more disastrous world war in a generation. This ultimately led to the Cold War, the War on Drugs and War or terror.
It is fashionable to talk about creative destruction and disrupting economies, but actual destruction also causes economic opportunities to buy low and invest in “developing” countries. This feedforward loop had seemed to benefit America, but closer inspection shows that all of the financial benefits came as peace dividends during off war decades (Eisenhower, Reagan, Clinton, Trump). In the end the delegation of authority to international bodies, the transition of the US citizen to a cash cow, and resultant endless war economy and fiat currency of Wilson’s policies have eroded and will liquidate this nation.
